		<description>Open source thinking (which I&#039;m also a fan of) is a good way to describe what they&#039;re going for (but fall short of). 

Whereas &quot;open&quot; communities tend to embrace contributions of any sort from those who want to contribute (and don&#039;t feel slighted by those who don&#039;t), the Indie Games Community is artificially created. Not only does it demand that all members contribute, it specifically spells out what is considered contribution (peer review) and ignores any other sort of community building effort.</description>

		<description>Apple already has a hard time staving off a &quot;race to the bottom&quot; with an even more closed system and a huge stable of quality content producers.  As I think about it, I guess it shouldn&#039;t be too surprising to see it even worse on the XBox side.

Clearly, churning and burning &quot;disposable&quot; titles with the hopes of a big hit is the only real business model.  If you can make a framework that allows you to create these sorts of titles but with better quality that would be great.  Still seems like a challenge to make a living.

Finally, I&#039;m guessing the attitude revolving around peer review stems from open source thinking (of which I am a fan) being inappropriately applied to an economic endeavor largely by people more closely aligned to the &quot;hobbyist&quot; than &quot;entrepreneur.&quot;</description>
